Turmeric Powder

Turmeric powder is a bright yellow spice powder made of dry Turmeric Rhizomes. Turmeric is useful for its color, flavor, cosmetic, and medical properties. It has a peppery, warm, bitter flavor. It is impossible to think of Indian food without Turmeric. Turmeric powder is used as a principal ingredient in making curry. It is used to add color and flavor to mustard powder. Turmeric powder should be kept in a tightly sealed container in a cool, dark, dry place and should be kept away sunlight. High humidity will cause it to cake. Open to air for long time will cause flavor and aroma loss.
