Ruined your curry by adding excess salt?

When I first started cooking I did not have an exact judgement of salt. It comes over time and experience. But I discovered this trick where I could correct my mistake easily. If you have added excess salt in your curry just add a few pieces of raw potatoes and let boil for sometime. The potato will suck in the excess salt. If you want you can remove the potatoes before serving your curry.
