Sage
Sage is another important Italian herb that is very aromatic and has a warm and peppery flavor. It is used in a lot of pastas, soups and drinks. It is also commonly used to marinade meat, chicken and vegetables. Sage as a herb is not only used in Italian cuisine but it is also very commonly used in Middle Eastern food too. In the olden days Sage was believed to cure all kinds of ailments. Vegetables like potato and mushroom taste great with sage. Like other herbs sage also is available in a dried form. Dried sage also has the same amount of flavor and aroma as the fresh leaves. It is easily available in grocery stores and can be substituted in all recipes like fresh sage.
